I’ll keep this short and sweet.
On June 19th of last year, I reluctantly launched a blog to chronicle my prospect rankings and random thoughts on MLB-action on a day-to-day basis.
Before Prospects 365 was a blog, it was simply a Twitter account. Our ‘About Prospects 365’ blog post says it all: On Opening Day of the 2017 MLB regular season, our Twitter account had a grand-total of 24 followers.
@Prospects365 currently has 898 followers (a laugh-out-loud 3742% increase in followers since the beginning of last season).
What’s even more noticeable is the work we’ve done since the turn of the calendar.
I released my 2017 Midseason Top 100 Prospect list on June 22nd last year. From June 22nd until the final day of 2017, Prospects-365.com accumulated 11,571 page views.
That’s just over 60 page views per day.
From January 1st of the new year to today, we’ve already EXCEEDED the page view-total from the ENTIRETY of the 192 days that our blog existed during the 2017 calendar year.
It took us all of 56 days to accomplish this feat.
That’s almost 207 page views per day.
And this is just the beginning.
I want Prospects 365 to be a destination Twitter account and website for the entirety of your baseball needs. Prospect opinions and outlooks? Check. Cutting edge active-player opinions and predictions? Check. Blog posts that exceed anything and everything you might read on another blog or website? Check. I want to produce material that leads you to bookmarking Prospects-365.com and saving it to the home screen on your iPhone and iPad.
And we’re well on our way.
I remain extremely busy in my non-blog/Twitter life. This past week alone, I worked well-over 50 hours between teaching and coaching. I can’t promise that content will always be as consistent and linear as it’s been the past few weeks, especially when the high school baseball regular season starts. Especially when the high school football regular season starts.
My promise to you is that I’ll try.
I’m one of the most competitive people you’ll ever meet. I don’t know what our page view total will be for the 2018 calendar year (at this rampant pace, we’ll exceed 75,000 total page views), but I promise I’ll work tooth-and-nail to exceed that number in 2019. And that number in 2020. So on and so forth. I’m excited about the path that Prospects 365 is taking.
Regardless of the end game of this Twitter account and blog, you have a chance to say you followed us from the very beginning.
Our track record speaks for itself.
I would like to say thank you. Thank you for following along. Thank you for believing in me. Thank you for believing in us. Don’t discount the impact you’ve had on a small-time blog like mine. Prospects 365 has reached its current height because of YOU.
Here’s to the future.
